This educational trail was created in 1998 by the commune of Finhaut with the support of Espace Mont-Blanc. It takes you from Emosson to Finhaut with an almost permanent view of the Mont-Blanc massif. 8 explanatory panels provide information on the geology, fauna, flora and history of the Finhaut-Emosson region.

the dinosaurs footprints site
In the Vieux-Emosson region, at an altitude of over 2,400m, you can follow the footprints left by reptilians over 240 million years ago. This is the best known deposit of its kind in Europe. Find out if they are visible as they can be covered in snow early in the season.

Tour de France route
The route leading to this dam is in fact the cumulative ascent of 2 passes, the Col de la Forclaz and the Col de la Gueulaz, which rise to 1,528m and 1,965m respectively. This route had the honour of welcoming the Tour de France caravan on 20 July 2016!
